Christal Linn – Talk To Me (104)

Christal Linn – Talk To Me

A record, not a rare one, not a big classic, just a thing i found in philly for a dollar and that keeps makin me happy since i’m back. Her singing reminds me of some nigerian records, and i just feel the little progression to the chorus.

Well, yea, school’s over, jumpin back into the social, and work… It’s been a long time, talk to me.

Berlin, twice!

Hello,

back in berlin and still havent written my round-up on the recent us-tour (which was so goood!). But i plan to write it this weekend, including music i found and a sick mix from my d.c. peeeps. Anyhoo, today, or better tonight, berlin is what its about.

First i will play the Heartbeat Club party for a friend i know from some hiphop-days ago, but he loves the boogie – so, i feel like playing early eighties, soulful, cant wait. The place is called Lupita, and its a spot i never been too, but located right at Kottbusser Tor, on top of that Kaisers supermarket. The steel door next to Kaisers entrance is where u wanna ring a bell to get in. Come early, when its full, the door won’t open. I play from 0-2, cover is 2 euros. no list, pure fun.

After that, Picknick – long time since my last gig there. It’s a blog-release party for How Do You Are, a blog by Dj Supermarkt from Berlin Battery. Ian Pooley is playing prime-time and lots of other people, that i am not too familiar with. This is gonna be more clubby, my bag is packed with sick house-cuts and early morning groovers for that one. I play 4-end. There is a guestlist, so shoot!

So, yup, good to be back. Got new winter boots so fuck the weather. Dang, lots of things happened, it feels like ages since i posted, sorry for that. I see people keep constantly checking back on the hunch, so thank all you anonymous visitors! There will be more tings happening again…on a hunch…

But hope to see you all before this, maybe tonight, a long night – so be a moon child!

The East Coast!

German bread – forgotten in suitcase, drunk man on plane, bad movies, good book, I-94, tooth brush, air train, atlantic terminal, flatbush, brooklyn – my new home for the next two weeks!

It’s been a big rush the last weeks, finished a lot of things, my head in the past and the future, hungry, hungry and thirsty. Weird, i feel old and then again, ten years younger, whats behind that, and what beyond there? I want to use things now, put em together, make em my reality.

Shit, i love the east coast (havent seen anything else from the states though, except detroit) – good to be back and feel it out in 2011!

A few trips comin up, first the Be MiN Valentines Party in Boston with my friend James Gerard on thursday. Middlesex last year was good, so happy to be back! There might even be a friday in the bags…

On saturday i play in Brooklyn with the notorious Jacques Renault and my homeboys, the Beautiful Swimmers. It’s some sick brooklyn venue, i dont know more about it yet, but i know i got some guestlist – so hit me up! This whole trip is somewhat of a “Swimmers + Hunee Eastcoast Tour” – since i play 3 parties with them in one week. Couldnt be better, but first Let’s Play House!

And then there’s a Whale in D.C. on a wednesday. Last years deep dive was already good and healthy and to play the Swimmers residency is generally like eating cake on a birthday. Yummy!

And then, then there’s Philly!!! The Robotique DJs, Magic Message, The Beautiful Swimmers and me –  at this place called Pi Lam! My first time in Philadelphia and i heard great things about the hosting residents, the club and the record stores, yes!

If u wanna join me on any of these parties, write me – i get you in!

Much love from Brooklyn!

School is over!

Helooooo,

we’re still here – now back with both feet! University – done!

Well, too excited to write too much, but there’s three parties comin up the next days – let’s do this!

Tonite in Berlin! Holy Water with Carlos Souffront – you know the deal, it’s just gonna be the best best party, easy! We put up the balloons yesterday, the DJR400 is gettin ready in the massage room, Carlos was fed at Little Otik, so has plenty of energy to burn and our thirst is than ever – dance or fly!

Tomorrow, Amsterdam!

Saturday, Helsinki!

School is over!
