Back to my favourite spot, my garden, my living room, my… In these last months, the monthly Hunchin All Night party became so many things to me and hopefully also to some others. Sometimes long and never tired, then again peakin so fast, but always another musical journey (more acid anyone? already early morning? deeper disco? who played the last record?), with new people, different people, friends and new memories. Ahh, well, i think  fridays party will be like this song. at least at one point.
So, this friday again, i might bring a mic, urghs, more records, further out in the wilderness, no shame.

…hunchin…

Mondo & C-Rob – Stimulation (HunchMix01)

A few months ago, i was sitting in the back of a car with the Future Times family, on our way from washington d.c. (their homebase and place of the whale) to philly (Robotique, what up!). Chatting, eating scary sandwiches and listening to music, while a stream of interesting boogie tunes made us all whip and groove and suddenly the topic of talk was the MIX.

Yes, it was a mix-cd from Mondo from FT and Protect-U fame and C-Rob, general family member and expert in all things existing. After the fourth track (now, after scanning the tracklist, i can say it was telegraph from different faces, and yes, i checked, it is rare and expensive for the lazy ones…) i was won over like a school-child eating ice cream and had to ask Mondo (C-Rob wasn’t in the car) immediatly to give me permission to use this mix for the hunch.

Ahh, what better guest-mix could open up this slightly ego-centric huneeverse to my friends and to you! They even were so wicked to send me graphics and a tracklist, so, here it is – a true stimulation to your ears, your butty, the sun and all flowers waiting to grow … yes kids, get on discogs…

V.A. – Panorama Bar 03 EP – out now.

V.A. – Panorama Bar 03 EP

Ok, this thing is out now. Last saturday/sundays release party at panorama bar was a big ball of fun and energy.

I heard the overall night, from Murat Tepeli’s sey warm-up set to Oracy’s live set, to Larry Heard vibrant mix of classics, to Tyree Cooper’s energetic, quite soulful performance to Prosumer doin his thing, to …haha, you see, long night… to Steffi and then Soundstore kickin’ his discoesque records to my lil’ journey on the decks to whatever happened after…uff, was really good and special.

I enjoyed playing heavy oldschool chicago acid records to new techno jams (hello ctf!), peaking into full-on disco and back to whatever was waiting in my bag. I was nervous in the beginning, but once that big train starts rolling, it just starts to feel natural and makes you take risks and new paths – destination unkown! The intensity you get in this place is so rare, but worth every sweat…

Anyhow, the EP is out now and the whole mix-cd will follow next week.

The music’s getting stronger…and the music’s getting stronger…
