Ennio Morricone – Come Maddalena (003)

Ennio Morricone – Come Maddalena (Disco78 Version)

Lately I’ve been experiencing my third deep “Morricone phase”, times where all i want to listen to – at home, at work, in the library, in the train back home – is “il maestro”! His music is inspiring and utterly scary at the same time, his instrumentation – giving every instrument the best line possible and pulling out uncountable themes and ideas. it’s like, i wanna make music and stop making music…

This is a disco version from 1978 of his “come maddalena” song. i think, i heard it the first time when i played at salon des amateurs and tolouse low trax pulled this magic moment out of his pants like 4:30 in the morning, elevating a packed floor to places the maestro possibly didnt have in mind while composing over his desk in italy.

anyways, we all need more morricone – on the train, at work, at day and at night.
